Palace Theatre Closes 2012-13 Season with Original Musical BRITISH INVASION, Now thru 6/22

By:

The Palace Theatre in downtown Manchester will close its 2012- 2013 Citizens Bank Performing Arts Series Season with an original musical production, British Invasion, from tonight, June 7th at 7:30 p.m. through Saturday, June 22nd, at 7:30 p.m. British Invasion, written, conceived and choreographed by Palace Theatre Artistic Director, Carl Rajotte, pays tribute to the innovative and timeless music influenced by the singers and musicians from across the pond.

The Palace Theatre is putting the final touches on this extraordinary original musical production. A live band, tribute singers and dancers will engage the audience as the show progresses and transports patrons on an artistic, theatrical and visual journey through the accomplishments of some of the most influential and entertaining acts -- beginning with reinterpretations of the "fab four" classic hits and reaching beyond the sounds of the 60s to modern day artists.

"The Palace Theatre presents this original production on stage for the first time and we are proud to offer British Invasion as the final show of our season. If you haven't seen any of the previous Palace Theatre original productions, you are in for a real experience. This is definitely a must see production that features live music with dancers, accomplished vocalists and musicians and plenty of twists and surprises," states Palace Theatre President, Peter Ramsey.

Carl Rajotte and his artistic team assembled the perfect blend of dancers, musicians and featured artists. "This is an exciting show that not only honors the legends that invaded the United States in the 1960s, but also pays tribute to the performers of today who have found success and popularity in the States. As we start the rehearsal process, it is exhilarating to see the performers come together with such enthusiasm and talent," states Carl Rajotte.

"Not only do we have fantastic tribute singers, highly trained athletic dancers, and first rate professional musicians, but we are also designing incredible visual effects. The creative staff, costume designers, scenic designers and tech staff at the Palace Theatre are working day and night to bring our audience this brand new "musical experience."

"In writing this show, I wanted to appeal to many different age groups and musical tastes. The production showcases the music of The Beatles, Adele, Sting, David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, Elton John, Queen and more -- all influential entertaining acts that span a huge time period from the 1960s all the way through today. All ages will truly be entertained by this production," added Rajotte.

Part of the 2012-2013 Citizens Bank Performing Arts Series, British Invasion opens Friday, June 7th and runs through June 22nd. Tickets are $15 to $45 depending on seating and child/senior/adult status. Tickets are available at the Palace Theatre box office, by calling 603.668.5588 or visitingwww.palacetheatre.org.
