New Hampshire Theatre Project Announces Scholarship Fund for Youth Repertory Co

By:

New Hampshire Theatre Project is proud to announce that the NHTP Youth Repertory Company has been chosen as a beneficiary of the CherylAnne Williams Scholarship Fund, held by the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation. This fund will provide an annual grant to NHTP to provide two $450 scholarships to students who have demonstrated financial need, one in the Junior Repertory Company and one in the Senior Repertory Company. Students interested in applying for a scholarship to the 2010-2011 Youth Repertory Company should contact NHTP artistic director Genevieve Aichele at gen@nhtheatreproject.org or 603-431-6644 ext. 2.

Upcoming Youth Repertory performances include Junior Repertory Company's Buckets of Butterflies and Senior Repertory Company's You Can't Take It With You.

The Junior Repertory Company, under the direction of Meghann Beauchamp, will present a collection of diverse stories from ancient Greece to a frozen future - these timeless tales teach us all how to find hope and strength in times of great difficulty. Buckets of Butterflies: Stories of Hope from the Past & Future runs Friday, April 9 at 7pm & Saturday, April 10 at 11am, 2pm and 7 pm and Sunday, April 11 at 11am and 2pm. All seats are $8 or $25 for family of 4 and reservations are highly suggested. Buckets of Butterflies is a production for youth audiences and is recommended for ages 6 and up.

Senior Repertory students will take the stage in May 2010 for Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman's hilarious comedy You Can't Take It With You. Led by its zany patriarch Grandpa, the Sycamores teach us that love, laughter, creativity and passion are much more important than material possessions. Directed by Genevieve Aichele, the Senior Repertory Company is a conservatory level training program for high school students who are deeply committed to learning the craft of theatre. Performances are May 14-23, 2010, Friday & Saturday @ 7pm, Sunday @ 2pm. Tickets are $18 general admission and $12 students & seniors. You Can't Take It With You is a mainstage production and is recommended for ages 8 and up.

All performances are held at 959 Islington Street in Portsmouth and reservations are highly recommended. Member discounts apply to individual tickets only. For reservations contact NHTP at reservations@nhtheatreproject.org or 603-431-6644 ext. 5.
