Dorks in Dungeons Sets Last Two Shows of Season at Seacoast Rep
Dorks in Dungeons LIVE! Onstage performs their last two shows for this season on Sunday May, 18th and Sunday, June 22nd at 7pm at The Seacoast Repertory Theatre. This month, in Dorks in Dungeons, they continue their ongoing adventure in a two hour improv comedy adventure in the tradition of Dungeons and Dragons. The regular cast of characters will be joined by guest improviser CJ Lewis.
Dorks in Dungeons were awarded an Editor's Pick for best Improv Comedy in NH from New Hampshire Magazine's Best of NH in 2013. They wrote a book about their ongoing improve adventure game, The Dorks in Dungeons Campaign Guide and Roleplaying Game. They have performed as headliners at Hal-Con in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the 2nd largest Fantasy/Sci-Fi convention in Canada. They will be guests of honor at and PortCon Maine in Portland, and recently joined Seven Stages Shakespeare Company as the Rude Mechanicals in the ShakesBEERience production of A Midsummer Night's Dream.
The performance will feature a social hour before the show beginning at 6pm, where guests can play games by local and national game-makers and enjoy beverages before entering the theater for the performance. The show is always, is pay-what-you-can and newbies get in free if they can score an elusive n00b comp ticket at Diversion's Puzzles and Games and Pickwick's Mercantile.
Dorks in Dungeons is inspired by Dungeons & Dragons, a rule-intensive role-playing dice game where players create imaginary characters in a fantasy world and set off on quests - all controlled by the Game Master. Game Master Brian Kelly leads the Dorks' adventurers through battles, challenges, skill checks more while a troupe of improvisers act as the denizens of a living, breathing fantasy world.
