Illyria's cheekiest show ever! First performed in 2000 when it was critic's choice at the Edinburgh Fringe festival and attracted multiple 5-star reviews on a sellout UK tour. The Emperor is a lovely man but he is surrounded by idiots. What keeps him sane is the monthly Grand Parade at which he wears his newest outfit. But how much is he willing to sacrifice when two swindlers offer him a way to identify who is competent by making him a suit of clothes which can only be seen by the wise? All, as they say, will be revealed....
[Note - there is NO nudity in the production. Although one of the actors may be a little chilly, and you will see the Emperor's Crown Jewels...]
Illyria is now based permanently in Cornwall, but each summer continues to tour the length and breadth of the UK and the Netherlands. This time they’re back with a funny and heartwarming story perfectly suited to the open-air.
