Of course, Prinsjesdag, the Hague public holiday par excellence, musically closed by the Residentie Orchestra. Inspired by the bicentennial of our monarchy conducts Jan Willem de Vriend Beethovens Wellingtons Sieg from 1813.

This spectacular composition is about the Duke who later fought side by side with the Prince of Orange, later King William II of the Netherlands. The famous tv artist Wim t. Schippers bends over ' Egmont ', Goethe's play about the Dutch Earl of Egmont. Accompanied by Beethoven's complete incidental music he tells about this popular count from the sixteenth century, a friend of William the silent but also welcome guest at the Spanish Court
