Orff wrote the piece in the first instance, for soloists, chorus, percussion and two pianos. Later, he made an edit for large Symphony Orchestra. In that version, you will get to hear the Carmina Burana. Best known is the magisterial opening movement: a hymn to Fortuna, the goddess of fate. In it, life is portrayed as a wheel of Fortune: sometimes it is, sometimes it against. The Orff music which the wheel let swing is by pop bands and DJ's excited. From time to time they get in the clinch with Orff's heirs – who watch fanatic about the legacy of their most famous family member.
