THE BODYGUARD Tour Celebrates 100th Performance in NOLA Today

The first U.S. National tour of the smash hit musical THE BODYGUARD celebrates its 100th performance today, April 7, 2017 at the Saenger Theatre in New Orleans, LA.

Produced by Michael Harrison, David Ian and Nederlander Presentations, Inc., and directed by Thea Sharrock, the U.S. National tour kicked off in Minneapolis, MN at the Orpheum Theatre on Tuesday January 10, 2017.

The production has been met with effusive standing ovations at every performance. Stars from music, screen, sports and fashion such as Patti LaBelle, Cece Winans, BeBe Winans, Johnny Gill, Ronnie DeVoe, Tamia and Grant Hill, Angela Bassett, Yaya DaCosta, Xavier Rhodes, June Ambrose and Carson Kressley have come to support the show.

Grammy Award-nominated and multi-platinum R&B/pop recording artist and film/TV actress Deborah Cox has received rave reviews for her performance as superstar Rachel Marron. "Deborah Cox astonishes" said The Philadelphia Inquirer. "It's difficult to find the right words to capture Deborah Cox's performance, but terms like "knockout" and "incredible" will have to do," claimed the Appleton Post-Crescent.

In the role of bodyguard Frank Farmer is television star Judson Mills. Rounding out the principal cast are Alex Corrado (Tony Scibelli), Jarid Faubel (Ray Court), Charles Gray (Bill Devaney), Jonathan Hadley (Sy Spector), Jorge Paniagua (the Stalker), Jasmin Richardson (Nicki Marron), Douglas Baldeo (Fletcher) and Kevelin B. Jones III (Fletcher).

The ensemble features Bren Don Chan, Willie Dee, Megan Elyse Fulmer, Alejandra Matos, Dequina Moore, Bradford Rahmlow, Benjamin Rivera, Sean Rozanski, Matthew Schmidt, Jaquez André Sims, Maria Cristina Slye, Nicole Spencer, Lauren Tanner, and Naomi C. Walley.

Based on Lawrence Kasdan's 1992 Oscar nominatEd Warner Bros. film, and adapted by Academy Award-winner (Birdman) Alexander Dinelaris, THE BODYGUARD had its world premiere on December 5, 2012 at London's Adelphi Theatre and its North American premiere on December 4, 2016 at Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, NJ.
