Towne Centre Theatre Presents 'YOU CAN'T BEAT THE HOUSE'

By:

Towne Centre Theatre present their latest production, the comedy You Can't Beat the House.

When two minor league burglars break into a house, they are surprised to find the place is for sale. And before they can leave, two prospective buyers, Conrad and Glenda (played by Michael Welch and Jennifer Bennett), show up to see the house. The burglars, Merle (Cabot Pyle) and Howie (Jakob Reuter), figure the best way to get out of this is to pretend to be the real estate agents until they can escape. Merle shows the house while Howie ducks out to get the car. This all works well until the REAL real estate agent shows up and Merle has to juggle the couple and the agent. Just as Merle gets rid of the realtor and is about to show the door to Conrad and Glenda, Howie arrives with news that their car has been towed away. Add to the cast a cop (Perry Poston) looking for two suspicious guys in the neighborhood, the policeman's mother (Melissa Williams), Conrad's secretary (Lily Norton), and Glenda's mother (Pam Funderburg), you have a parade of oddball characters. And we can't forget Madame Zenobia (Karen Yates); because, of course, the house is haunted! This screwball comedy is one wise-crack after another and proves once again that You Can't Beat the House.

You Can't Beat the House opens September 30th and runs through October 15th. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling (615) 221-1174.
