3Ps Productions and Street Theatre are proud to announce two focused talkbacks during the run of the critically acclaimed Long Way Down currently running at Street Theatre Company, 1933 Elm Hill Pike, Nashville.

"Long Way Down is the sort of play that causes a great conversation on the ride home, and we don't think you should have to wait until you get in your car to talk about it." Says producer Johnny Peppers.

For two consecutive Thursdays, performances of Long Way Down will be immediately followed by focused talkbacks featuring experts from the community. On Thursday, May 19, audiences will be engaged in a discussion titled "Why Women Kill" featuring author and educator Claudia Barnett and playwright Nate Eppler. Barnett, who teaches the course "Women Who Kill" at Middle Tennessee State University, will lead a discussion examining the motivating factors in high-profile cases where women have been driven to murderous extremes.

On Thursday, May 26, audiences will be invited to participate in the conversation "Is God an Excuse?" featuring Ronnie Meek, senior pastor of Springhouse Worship and Arts Center. The discussion will explore the religious themes of the play and explore how in some cases religious zeal turns into dangerous zealotry.

"Street Theatre Company is proud to sponsor the two talkbacks," says Jamie Janiszewski, Board
president of the Street Theatre Company board of directors.

"It is important for us as a company to produce theatre that makes you think and is cutting edge, and that is why we felt it was a perfect collaboration to work with 3Ps to sponsor these talkbacks. When you have truly great art then it sparks great conversation, and once you see Long Way Down you will see what I mean. I personally left the theatre with the desire to sift through everything I had just witnessed on stage; it made me think, I had questions and I wanted to talk about it. That's the opportunity we're offering with these talkbacks."

Long Way Down runs through Saturday May 28. Shows at 7:30 p.m., Sundays at 5p.m., and is intended for adult audiences. Tickets are $15 in advance/$20 at the door. Tickets on sale at www.ticketsnashville.com . For online reservations, please email your request to longwaydowntix@gmail.com For more information please visit www.3psproductions.com
