Somebody's stolen Santa's Christmas Magic and a crafty young girl and some of her special friends have joined forces to get it back in the Chaffin's Barn Dinner Theatre presentation of Sarah and the Secret of Santaland, a new play by J. Dietz Osborne and Nate Eppler, based on a story by Davey Peppers. The world premiere production debuts on Tuesday, December 8, and continues through December 19 at the venerable Nashville venue, with doors opening at 10 a.m. and the show starting at 11 a.m.

In Osborne and Eppler's play, the thieves have left a series of clues and puzzles that Santa himself will need to solve in order to retrieve his magic. Along comes young Sarah, accompanied by some of her special friends (including two of the big guy's trusty elves; Sassafras, the cowgirl; and Mr. Marzipan, the train conductor), who will help Santa solve the mystery of the missing magic.

The character of Sarah returns to the Barn stage from this summer's show, Sarah and the Secret of the Cellar, also from the pens of Osborne and Eppler.

Osborne directs the cast, which includes Nate Eppler, Katie Gant, Fred Mullen, Johnny Peppers and Martha Wilkinson, with Cortney Buczkowski as Sarah.

Tickets are $8 per person (children and adults) and include the show and coffee, tea and soft drinks. You may bring your own sack lunch or snacks if desired.

Reservations are required; call the box office at (615) 646-9977 for more information or to make reservations. Pictures with Santa and his elves are available after each performance. Let the box office know if you or your group would like to have your picture taken.

For group rates, call the group sales office at (615) 646-9977, ext 11. For further details about this and other shows at Chaffin's Barn Dinner Theatre, including the offerings in the upcoming 2010 season, visit the website at www.dinnertheatre.com.
