SCROOGE, THE MUSICAL Returns to Cumberland County Playhouse for the Holidays

By:

From November 13 through December 19, Cumberland County Playhouse presents SCROOGE, THE MUSICAL. Scrooge is the charming stage adaptation of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" by renowned writer-composer-lyricist Leslie Bricusse. It is closely adapted from the 1970 musical film Scrooge starring Albert Finney, which earned Bricusse an Oscar nomination for his score.

"This is the fourth time we've produced Scrooge since 2002," says director Britt Hancock (Mary Poppins, Singin' in the Rain), "and last year's production sold out so quickly we added additional performances and still couldn't keep up with the demand for tickets."

The beloved Christmas tale will once again star Jason Ross in the title role. Along with Ross, many other Playhouse favorites will be reprising their roles from past productions, including Daniel Black (Jacob Marley), Bob Cleeland (Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come), Jensen Crain (Mary), DeAnna Etchison (Mary), Britt Hancock (Ghost of Christmas Present), Carol Irvin (Ghost of Christmas Past), Lindsey Mapes (Isabel), Lauren Marshall (Mrs. Fezziwig), Chavin Medina (Tiny Tim), Michael Ruff (Tom Jenkins), Chaz Sanders (Dick Wilkins), Chance Wall (Young Scrooge) and Weslie Webster (Mrs. Cratchit). New company member Patrick McGuire will play Bob Cratchit.

Join the legendary miser Ebenezer Scrooge on his magical journey of redemption as ghosts from the past, present and future visit him on Christmas Eve in the delightful holiday treat, Scrooge!

Scrooge is rated G and sponsored by M. Stewart Galloway, M.D., Janis L. Holt, M.D., Cumberland Eye Care. Tickets may be obtained by calling (931) 484-5000 or by visiting www.ccplayhouse.com. Tickets and information are also available for Southern Stars Symphonic Brass and other events. All CCP productions are made possible through sponsor support, with additional support provided by the Tennessee Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts.
