Photo Flash: Meet the Cast of AMERICAN IDIOT at Circle Players

Circle Players present the Tony Award-winning hit musical AMERICAN IDIOT, based on Green Day's GRAMMY Award-winning multi-platinum album, featuring music by Green Day, lyrics by Billie Joe Armstrong, and book by Billie Joe Armstrong and Michael Mayer. The show runs August 20-30, 2015 at the Tennessee State University Strange Performing Arts Center's Cox-Lewis Theater, located on Alameda Street on TSU campus). Johnny, Tunny and Will struggle to find meaning in a post-9/11 world. When the three disgruntled young men flee their hometown for the thrills of city life, their paths are quickly torn apart: Tunny enters the armed forces, Michael is called back home to take care of family; Johnny's attention is diverted by a seductive love interest and hazardous new friendship. A high-octane rock opera with strong social messages, AMERICAN IDIOT, features little dialogue and instead relies on lyrics from Green Day's powerhouse album to execute the story. (Rated PG-13 for mature themes, language)
