William Finn's Tony Award-winning musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee opens Friday, September 18, at the Roxy Regional Theatre, running through October 10.

"Combine the awkward trials of adolescence with incredible intelligence and obscure words and you have a recipe for a great night at the theatre," according to Katherine Kolodzie, director of public relations and development for the Clarskville theatre company. "Catchy tunes comically lamenting the woes of puberty and special onstage guests will leave audience members in stitches."

Since its Broadway debut, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee has gained national fame with its hallmark improvisation and audience participation, which makes every night a marvelous and unique experience, Kolodzie promises.

The Roxy Regional Theatre delivers live, professional productions with skilled and experienced actors from across the United States and is located at 100 Franklin Street in downtown Clarksville.

Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday nights, at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights, and a 2 p.m. matinee on September 26. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for children 13 and younger, and may be purchased online at www.roxyregionaltheatre.org or by call the box office at (931) 645-7699 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays.
