After the enormously successful debut of their cabaret and their follow up Lac-Mégantic fundraiser, Barefoot Broadway co-producers, Noelle Hannibal and Tara Bissett are back. Barefoot Broadway presents Highlights from RENT In Concert is a fundraiser to help a very special family in need.

Enter the world of RENT in Concert, brought to life in Théâtre Ste. Catherine's intimate brick-walled interior, reminiscent of the lofts of NYC. A special concert fundraiser featuring some of Montreal's up-and-coming talent alongside established performers, with musical direction by Sean Mayes.

The cast includes Noelle Hannibal, Tara Bissett, Frayne McCarthy, Marc Ducusin, Sarah Kulaga, Gabriel Lévesque, Elizabeth Proulx, Brandon Schwartz, Lauren Stone and Nathaniel Villanueva.

The idea for this special concert stemmed from the sudden passing of the husband of co-producer Noelle Hannibal's childhood best friend, Tracey. Because of a previous condition, Tracey's husband, Brian, had no life insurance, putting the family with two small children under tremendous financial strain. RENT was the first Broadway show Hannibal and Tracey saw together, and was a favourite of Brian's - in fact, the RENT soundtrack was discovered in mid-play in his car after his death. The idea that RENT was one of the last things Brian listened to, along with the history Hannibal and Tracey had with the show, sparked the idea. Hannibal contacted co-producer Tara Bissett and 'Highlights from RENT in Concert' was born. Over 50% of the proceeds from these concerts is going to help the family in their time of need.
