UM Theatre & Dance Presents ANGELS IN AMERICA: MILLENNIUM APPROACHES, Now thru 12/7

The University of Montana will offer Angels in America, Part One: Millennium Approaches, winner of the 1993 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Angels in America runs in the Montana Theatre of the Performing Arts and Radio/Television Center on campus both before and after the Thanksgiving holiday: tonight, November 19-23 and December 3-7 at 7:30 pm. There will also be a matinee on World AIDS Day, December 1, at 3:00 pm with a special talkback following the performance.

Set during the early days of the AIDS epidemic, two couples in New York City grapple with seemingly insurmountable forces, both internal and external. Angels in America provides thrilling juxtapositions of the intimate with the spectacular, the very public (politics) with the very private (love and sexuality), and rich humor with stark pathos. Societal and personal change are both chronicled with deftness and empathy even for the drama's most malicious characters. Full of passion, compassion, and big ideas, Tony Kushner's epic Part One of Angels in America is no less than one of the most important plays of the late twentieth century.
