The Ellen Theatre Kicks Off The New Year With Great Music, Movies, And More!

On Thursday, January 10, MARTIN TAYLOR and Laurence Juber join forces for a one-of-a-kind musical event! Acoustic Guitar magazine calls Taylor "The Acoustic Guitarist of his generation" and Jazz Times declares he's "Europe's finest guitarist." Juber is a two-time Grammy-winning musician, best known for his role as lead guitarist in Paul McCartney's WINGS. Two talented artists share their talents for this incredible night of music. 7:30 PM. Tickets $27.

"A powerful blues and soul singer," according to The New Yorker, Martha Redbone ROOTS PROJECT takes the stage on Saturday, January 12 at 7:30 PM. The charismatic, award-winning songstress is celebrated for her tasty gumbo of roots music embodying the folk and country sounds of her childhood in the Appalachian Mountains mixed with the eclectic grit of her teenage years in pre-gentrified Brooklyn. Reserved Seats $26.

Documentary THE Bill Murray STORIES: Life Lessons Learned from a Mythical Man, screens Thursday, January 17 at 7:30 PM. The film is an inside look at rare and never-before seen footage of Bill Murray participating in stories previously presumed to be urban legend. It depicts Director Tommy Avallone's personal journey to find meaning in the comedic icon's many unexpected adventures, from singing karaoke late at night with strangers to crashing a kickball game in the middle of the afternoon. All Seats Only $6. Not Rated. 70 minutes.

Saturday, January 19 unites the worlds of music, dance and poetry with BON DÉBARRAS! Three Montreal artists bring together a fusion of Quebecois folk music, traditional step-dancing, and global influences, for a show that is lively and undeniably creative. Bon Débarras' energy taps into the rhythms of today and ventures boldly on the multi-faceted road to tomorrow. 7:30 PM. Tickets $21.
