Hairspray at Fridley Community Theatre

With catchy songs like “Good Morning Baltimore” and “You Can’t Stop the Beat,” Hairspray combines humor, heart, and a powerful social message about inclusion, acceptance, and the fight for equality. Following the story of Tracy, a plus-sized teenager with big dreams of dancing on a local TV program, despite societal pressures and body shaming. Tracy's talent and determination earn her a spot on the show, where she becomes passionate advocate for racial integration on the show, challenging the status quo in a segregated society. With friends and love interests found along the way, they pave the way for intergrated TV in Baltimore in this high-energy musical.
