A "swiftly paced", powerful new translation of Antigone, full of sly, contemporary humor. An uplifting and timely portrayal of Antigone’s fight for justice.

"[Carson's] poetry. . .like Antigone's character, is a thrilling combination of hot-blooded instinct and dispassionate resolve." –National Post

Anne Carson is an internationally acclaimed poet and translator.

ANTIGONE is an ancient Greek play by Sophokles that depicts Antigone’s heroic public defiance of King Kreon’s tyrannical rule. This ever relevant play explores themes of love, family, loyalty, and civil disobedience.

ANTIGONICK is Carson’s brilliant translation of ANTIGONE. Her new title evokes the crucial timing of events, the “nick of time,” in the play.

ANTIGONICK will feature Oogie_Push, a citizen of the Meskwaki Nation, as Antigone, Rich Remedios as Kreon, Laila Sahir as Ismene, Sebastian Grim as Haimon, Sandy Agustin as Nick, with an excellent cast of 9 other professional actors.

"Carson is nothing less than brilliant unfalteringly sharp in diction, audacious, and judicious in taking liberties." Publishers Weekly
