The National Tour of The Wizard of Oz, touching down in Minneapolis for five performances March 26-28, 2010, is sounding the alarm and calling for 12 local children to perform the roles of "munchkins" as part of their performing arts education program while this beloved classic is live on stage in their hometown.

The auditions will be hosted by Hennepin Theatre Trust and take place at Hennepin Stages (2nd Floor), 824 Hennepin Ave., Mpls., 55403 on Saturday, February 20 at 10:00 a.m. with check in starting at 9:30 a.m.

The tour is looking for 12 children from an existing dance, choir, or theater group.  Auditioning groups must consist of children between the ages of 8 and 13.  Due to wardrobe limitations, it is asked that auditioning kids not exceed 5 feet in height or 100 pounds in weight.
