The Duluth Playhouse Presents A Hilarious Comedy With Some Serious Baggage

By:

The Duluth Playhouse Presents A Hilarious Comedy With Some Serious Baggage ImageThe Duluth Playhouse is proud to present the Ken Ludwig comedy, Lend Me A Tenor, at the NorShor Theatre beginning April 5 through April 15, 2018. This production is directed by Michael Kraklio.

"Our patrons love to laugh, and you would be hard-pressed to find a funnier show. The audience will be on the edge of their seats while wiping tears of laughter from their eyes. My goal is to have the audience feeling a bit exhausted at the end of the performance. We shall see . . ." said Kraklio when asked about the show.

On a very important night for the Cleveland Grand Opera Company, Tito Merelli (played by community artist, Jody Kujawa), the world-famous Italian tenor, is set to perform the starring role in the night's production. After a huge fight with his Italian wife, Maria (played by Playhouse newcomer, Jessica Saxton), Tito receives a double dose of tranquilizers through a series of mishaps. Throw in an ambitious female co-star, a flirty head of the Opera Guild, a young nervous assistant (and secret tenor extraordinaire), and a meddling Bellhop, you have a recipe for comedic disaster!

"Being only the second show in the NorShor, there is some responsibility to show our patrons that a non-musical will play very well in this new space. Although it is considerably larger than our space at the Depot, it still has a feeling of intimacy, which puts you right in the action. We are excited to show our patrons that all types of theatre will be possible on this new stage," said Kraklio.

Tickets are on sale now for this door-slamming farce online at norshortheatre.com, by calling 218.733.7555, or stopping by in person at our new Box Office located at the NorShor Theatre.
