Stages Theatre Company is hosting its annual fundraising event, Snowball, Sunday, Jan. 31, which features a special performance of the current production The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats.

Doors open at 4 p.m. and the event begins at 4:30 p.m. with a performance of The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats the classic 1963 Caldecott Award winner. Following the performance, attendees are welcome to enjoy a boxed dinner, entertainment and activities including a giant slide and rock wall, family portraits, crafts, a mini-dance workshop and activities by the Minnesota Science Museum. The event also includes a silent auction table filled with unique items related to the show titles in Stages Theatre Company 2009-10 season productions.

The annual fundraising event has grown in size and attendance over the years. "Our annual event has become very popular with families looking for a fun, enriching and worthwhile activity to partake in with their children. Attendance grows each year and we believe this is because families see real value in what our benefit offers - supporting Stages Theatre Company's youth-focused mission," says Development Director Jill Harper.

General admission is $40 per person, but there is an option to purchase patron tickets for $250 (four tickets), $500 (six tickets), $1,000 (eight tickets, plus two 2010-11 season STC tickets) and $2,500 (10 tickets, plus four 2010-11 season STC tickets). Proceeds from tickets and the silent auction will support STC's various youth programs. For more information, visit www.stagestheatre.org/special_events.htm. To purchase tickets, please call the box office at (952) 979-1111, Tuesday-Saturday from noon to 6 p.m.
