Magic Tree House: The Musical®, the Broadway-style adaptation of the best-selling children's book series by author Mary Pope Osborne, is scheduled for two performances on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. at Hennepin Theatre Trust's State Theatre. Since its debut in 1992, the phenomenally popular Magic Tree House series with 59 published titles relating the adventures of Jack and Annie has sold more than 60 million copies worldwide. In this colorful musical theatre production recommended for ages 7-10, Magic Tree House: The Musical® transports Jack and Annie onto the stage to restore joy and magic to King Arthur's kingdom. The brother and sister team must travel to Camelot's dreaded Otherworld and return with water from the mythical Cauldron of Memory and Imagination. Rising to each challenge with courage, humor and resourcefulness, Jack and Annie discover that memory and imagination are gifts we can all use to fill our lives with magic. The show features over a dozen original songs, over two dozen life-sized puppets and whimsical dance costumes for an entire troupe of Irish step dancers. An enchanting blend of song, story and stagecraft, Magic Tree House: The Musical® is a captivating production that will keep kids on the edge of their seats. Magic Tree House: The Musical® will play Hennepin Theatre Trust's State Theatre on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tickets go on sale Friday, Feb. 13 at noon and range in price from $27 to $37 depending on seating preference. A $10 discount is available for both price levels for children 12 and under- ticket price after discount will be $17 to $27. All prices include applicable facility fees. Additional service charges may apply.
