Jungle Theater Names Shannon Robinson As Managing Director

By: Oct. 18, 2018

The Jungle Theater today announced the appointment of Shannon Robinson as Managing Director. She will join the staff in early December. Robinson comes to the Jungle from the Guthrie Theater, where she served as Associate Director of Development.

"I'm thrilled to welcome Shannon as a co-leader of the Jungle," said Artistic Director Sarah Rasmussen. "She is such a passionate advocate of our Twin Cities arts scene, and her smart and joyful spirit are an exciting match for us."

In her role as Managing Director, Robinson will provide fundraising, administrative, and fiscal leadership for the Jungle Theater. As a collaborative partner with the Artistic Director and board of directors, she will focus on achieving the strategic priorities of the organization.

"My goal is to connect people to their artistic communities and inspire them to make thoughtful choices that enrich and diversify their lives and the lives of others," said Robinson. "The ability to help create theater experiences for artists and audiences alongside Sarah Rasmussen is incredibly exciting."

Robinson was chosen after a national search, spearheaded by past and present board members and two external consultants with extensive Jungle experience. "While we had a number of fine candidates, Shannon stood out as a cultivator and innovator with exceptional experience in the theatrical industry," said Craig Ashby, chair of the Jungle's board of directors. "We're delighted to have her at the helm in this exciting and expansive moment at the Jungle."

Robinson has spent the past seven years at the Guthrie Theater, managing aspects of the Guthrie's fundraising efforts including operations, solicitation, and strategy. In her time there, she tailored stewardship and recognition opportunities for major donors, including recreating the Guthrie's Producer Program. She also previously served as development manager for the New York Pops.
