Chanhassen Dinner Theatres to Present HAIRSPRAY in Support of Breast Cancer Research

By:

Chanhassen Dinner Theatres (CDT) will partner with Regis Salons, presenting sponsor for HAIRSPRAY, in a first-ever endeavor to support Breast Cancer Research and Awareness throughout the month of October 2011.

Through the production of HAIRSPRAY, CDT aligns with Regis Salons and the Regis Foundation for Breast Cancer Research along with other partners, the American Cancer Society and the Minnesota Department of Health to spread the word, celebrate survivors and raise funds to fight this disease together.

Chanhassen Dinner Theatres and Regis Salons will participate in the following ways:
• CDT will donate a portion of all October ticket sales to benefit the Regis Foundation for Breast Cancer Research.
• CDT has created specialty "pink" cocktails and desserts with a portion of those sales donated to the American Cancer Society.
• CDT employees and friends have formed a team to walk in MAKING STRIDES AGAINST BREAST CANCER, a 3-mile ceremonial walk around Lake Nokomis on Saturday, Oct 15th. For more information, contact Chanhassen Dinner Theatres at 952-934-1500.
• CDT will also host SURVIVOR DEDICATION NIGHTS on Tues, Wed, & Thurs evenings throughout October to recognize and honor survivors and their families.
For more information, go online to the American Cancer Society newsletter at: http://makingstrides.acsevents.org/site/DocServer/NEWSLETTER_SEPTEMBER.pdf?docID=204944
• Regis Salons gifts specialty "pink" products to guests attending during October (while supplies last).

CDT audience members may choose to participate:
• Make a donation following all October performances and receive BCA pin from Regis Salons (while supplies last). All dollars benefit the Regis Foundation for Breast Cancer Research.
• Walk in or make a donation to the MAKING STRIDES AGAINST BREAST CANCER walk through the American Cancer Society, under the team name of Chanhassen Dinner Theatres!
• Get your hair cut on Saturday, October 1 at any participating Regis Salon. A portion of proceeds go directly to Regis' CLIP FOR THE CURE event and the Regis Foundation for Breast Cancer Research.
• Wear newly designed specialty "pink" HAIRSPRAY merchandise at CDT gift shop to spread the word.

Lastly, during the month of October, media partners will "share their artistic talents" as they take the stage in walk-on roles in HAIRSPRAY. Each of these women are either breast cancer survivors or have been closely affected by the disease. Participants include: Staci Matthews/KS95; Lee Valsvik/KOOL 108; Stephanie Hansen/MyTalk 107.1, and Kevyn Burger & Ruth Koscielak/Ruth Today. Additional support from WLTE.
