This Tuesday and Thursday, April 13 and 15, Andrew Palermo, Artistic Director of dre.dance, will appear at The Directors Studios in Minneapolis, MN. Andrew's appearance on the 13th will be a Dance Master Class from 6-7:30 pm. On April 15, Andrew will host a lecture and demonstration from 6:30-8pm.

Along with actor Taye Diggs, Andrew Palermo is the second founder of dre.dance. Andrew earned his degree from the University of Cincinnati, ccm. In addition to dre.dance performance work, Andrew proudly conducts residencies and masterclasses in contemporary dance, musical theater, hip-hop, jazz, and acting/audition techniques. He has provided instruction and/or built new work at the University of Cincinnati-ccm, University of Michigan, Syracuse University, Pepperdine University, Wichita State University, SUNY Potsdam, Rochester School of the Arts, Music Theater Italy, Dance New Amsterdam, Broadway Dance Center, Edge Pac, Millennium Dance Complex, Oakland University, and numerous national conventions, studios and performing arts camps.

Outside of dre.dance, andrew's stage choreography credits include Great Joy at New Amsterdam Theatre, Kristin Chenoweth at Carnegie Hall, Esther Demsack at the Public Theater, X'posed/Jai Rodriquez at Hudson Theatre, Journey to the West at 37 Arts, among many others. For the camera, Andrew has choreographed for Comedy Central's "Stella", promos for Tracey Ullman's "State of the Union" (Showtime), The Film Holey Habits, as well as commercials for G-Shock and the Showtime Network/Apple computers. As a performer Andrew and taye have appeared on broadway, off broadway and in touring productions.

Andrew Palermo's dance class is a fusion of contemporary modern, jazz, hip hop and theatrical techniques. It consists of a contemporary modern/jazz warm-up with strengthening elements, followed by technical sequences and phrases, concluding with combinations from the dre.dance repertoire. Palermo's unique ability to reach students of all experience levels provides a fun yet challenging atmosphere enabling students to improve their technique while enjoying dances to popular music in a relaxed yet inspirational atmosphere. Dancers of all levels encouraged to attend! Please RSVP to Amy Miller at 651.282.3017 or amiller@ordway.org

Andrew Palermo will speak about beyond.words, a dance piece developed following intensive study through workshops, residency, and interviews with people on the autism spectrum.
