The Marcus Center for the Performing Arts announces its production of Packer Fans from Outer Space this summer, June 8-July 22, in Vogel Hall as part of its Off Broadway series. A preview performance will be held on Thursday, June 7 at 7:30 p.m. It is the world's very first (and only) Science Fiction Football Musical Comedy! Tickets go on sale this Friday, April 20 at 12:00 p.m.

Packer Fans From Outer Space follows the exploits of Door County Packer Fan and apple farmer Harvey Keister. Harvey is called upon by a group of Packer aliens to save their planet from the evil Space Bears. Marge, his Chicago Bears-loving wife, fears for his sanity. Packer Fans from Outer Space is a family friendly musical comedy filled with songs about love, Wisconsin traditions and our historic football rivalry, including "You Gotta Hate the Bears" and "Winning is the Only Thing."

Packer Fans From Outer Space features book and lyrics by Frederick Heide and Lee Becker. The music is by Frederick Heide with additional music by James Kaplan. The world premier production was presented by American Folklore Theatre in June 2002.

Performances for Packer Fans From Outer Space will take place at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts in Vogel Hall. A preview performance will be held on June 7 with opening night on June 8. Performances continue through July 22. Each Saturday between matinee and evening performances the Marcus Center exclusive catering partner, Sazama's Fine Catering, will hold tailgate parties with a delicious menu featuring Saz's famous BBQ and much more. Tickets are $40 and go on sale this Friday, April 20 at 12:00 p.m. at the Marcus Center Box Office at 929 North Water Street, Downtown Milwaukee, by phone at 414-273-7206, online at MarcusCenter.org or Ticketmaster.com.

The cast and crew is made up of Milwaukee area talent including: Bill Theisen, Rhonda Rae Busch, Beth Mulkerron, Norman Moses, Paul Helm, Josh Krause, Thomas Novak, and Ryan Cappleman. The Director is Jenny Wanasek, Music Direction and Arrangements are by Paul Helm, Lighting Design is by Jason Fassl, Sound Design is by Chris Guse and the Stage Manager is Sarah Hoffmann.
