The contemporary Christian music group MercyMe will take the stage at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. promoting their recently released album "The Generous Mr. Lovewell." The album, their sixth studio recording project, gave the band its highest chart debut to date, ranking number three in the nation on Billboard's Top 200 Soundscan Chart and number one on the overall Contemporary Christian Soundscan chart.

Tickets for MercyMe start at $35 and will go on sale to the general public Friday, June 11, 2010 at 10 a.m. Tickets can be purchased by calling Ticketmaster at (800) 982-2787 or the Center's ticket office at (920) 730-3760. Tickets can also be purchased in person at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center's ticket office or online at foxcitiespac.com. Groups of 15 or more may purchase tickets by calling (920) 730-3786. Additional fees may apply.

MercyMe singer, Bart Millard, described the fictitious namesake of the album saying, "He's like Buddy the Elf meets Forrest Gump. He sees the good in everyone and knows his neighbors enough to know their needs." The band hopes their "Mr. Lovewell" concept inspires their fans to perform random acts of kindness, philanthropy and evangelism, using social media networks like Twitter and Facebook to connect.

Since their debut album in 2001, Grammy® Award-nominated, American Music Award and multiple GMA Dove Award winners MercyMe have sold over 5.5 million units in CD and DVD sales, while being one of few contemporary Christian music groups to have had all of their recordings certified gold or platinum, as well as garner 22 number one multi-format Christian radio singles, and four consecutive mainstream radio hits with "I Can Only Imagine," "Here With Me," "Homesick" and "So Long Self." In 2009 Billboard named MercyMe's "Word Of God Speak" the number one song of the decade and the group the number one Christian song artist of the decade, with an additional number one as the Christian AC song artist of the decade as one of the industry's most notable talents. MercyMe recently made history as "I Can Only Imagine" surpassed 1 million digital downloads, making it the first song in Christian music to go platinum in the digital domain. The multi-platinum selling band has sold out venues including Radio City Music Hall and has been seen on "The Tonight Show," CNN, Fox News Channel's "Fox & Friends," ABC News, CBS' "The Early Show," and on the pages of Entertainment Weekly, The New York Times, USA Today, Billboard and more.
