AIP Kicks Off Fourth Season With Jason Robert Brown's SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD Image

All In Productions, a Milwaukee-based theater company dedicated to working with local artists to produce high-quality shows, announced its production will be Jason Robert Brown's Songs for a New World, running at Redeemer Lutheran Church from April 19 to 28.

Songs for a New World is a collection of musical stories centered on the theme of entering a "new world." As Brown said, "It's about one moment. It's about hitting the wall and having to make a choice... or take a stand... or turn around and go back." The entirely sung-through musical is performed by four actors, who portray different characters throughout the show who nevertheless see clear and consistent arcs to their stories.

"The characters presented throughout the show find themselves in extremely relatable circumstances, and we as viewers watch as they find themselves on the cusp of making important decisions that could affect the rest of their life-decisions we ourselves may have made at some point in our lives," said Tim Backes, Associate Artistic Director of All In Productions and the director of Songs for a New World. "This is a show that is, of course, renowned for its outstanding music, but its real power is in the genuine portrayals of truly human experiences and decisions that people around the world have to face on a daily basis."

This will be the first show of All In Productions' fourth season, titled DISCOVERIES. Backes most recently worked with the company as the director of its acclaimed Fall 2017 production, Next to Normal.

The show features Jamie Mercado as Woman 1, Laura McDonald as Woman 2, Indalecio de Jesus Valentin as Man 1 and Patrick Jones as Man 2.

Also on the production team for the show: Assistant Director Adam Qutaishat (Next to Normal, Dr. Madden/Fine), Stage Manager Allison Kasprovich (first production with All In Productions), Choreographer Stephanie Staszak (The Wild Party), Music Director Tom Reifenberg (first production with All In Productions), Assistant Music Director Alison Bekolay (The Wild Party), Technical Director Jim Padovano (first production with All In Productions), Costume Designer Molly Mason (Constellations).

"This is one of my absolute favorite musicals, and I'm excited to bring it to Redeemer Lutheran Church, a beautiful and historic building that will be the perfect setting for this contemplative production," said Backes.

Shows are April 19, 20, 21, 22, 26, 27 and 28 at 7:30 p.m. each night at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Tickets are now available at All In Productions' website, www.allin-mke.com.
