AUDITIONS for NEWSIES Feb. 9-10: Actors, Singers, Dancers, and Gymnasts wanted for Disney’s Newsies at Grosse Pointe Theatre at Grosse Pointe Theatre

Dance Workshop Feb. 7; Auditions Feb. 9-10; Callbacks Feb. 11. Rehearsals start Feb. 12.  Performances May 3-12.

All actors, singers, dancers, and gymnasts of all genders are welcome to audition for Grosse Pointe Theatre’s production of Disney’s Newswires, The Musical, which will be performed May 3-12 at Parcells Auditorium in Grosse Pointe Woods. There are several roles for young and older characters.

WHAT:            Auditions for Disney’s Newsies, a Grosse Pointe Theatre production.

WHEN:           Friday, Feb. 9th, 6-10 PM, and Saturday, Feb. 10th, 1-5 PM. Callbacks will be Sunday, Feb. 11th, 1–5 PM.

 Pre-Audition Dance Workshop Feb. 7, from 7 - 10 p.m. will teach the audition dance routine. The workshop will be at Grosse Pointe Theatre’s Rehearsal Studio. Registration begins at 7 p.m.; workshop runs 7:30 – 10 p.m. Wear comfortable clothes and bring dance shoes, including tap shoes if available.

WHO:              Actors, singers, dancers, and gymnasts of all genders who can portray a teenager, young adult or adult, and are committed to working together as a team to achieve a magical theatre experience and gain wonderful memories that will last a lifetime.

HOW:              Complete the fillable PDF audition application form available at gpt.org/auditions prior to auditions. Bring the completed form to auditions. Application forms will also be available at auditions. All audition information, list of teenage and adult roles, and music and script cuts are available at www.gpt.org/auditions.

Actors should note schedule conflicts and bring a headshot, or a photo will be taken at auditions. Participants are encouraged to prepare an accent appropriate for the respective role(s) they wish to audition for.
