Tickets for this event are $10. Doors will open and seating for this event will begin 30 minutes prior to showtime. Coldwater Michigan is home to over two thousand Yemeni immigrants making it the second largest Arab population in Michigan. Aira will be hosting an exhibition about Yemen and its traditions and culture. Aira, Inc. of Coldwater, is a burgeoning non-profit aimed at supporting cultural inclusion among underrepresented groups and women through education, consultation services, cross-culture outreach, and cross-culture education within the community. Aira will be organizing this Yemeni Community Event to help the audience expand their understanding about Yemen’s traditions and cultures. Aira will go over major historical events, native plants and herbs, the female and male traditional clothing, wedding traditions, Yemeni coffee and tea, traditional food, architecture, artifacts and art, and many more. There will be a station for each topic with written descriptions and facts and visual representations. There will also be individuals at each station who will answer any questions that arise. And the best part, there will be samples of traditional food that the audience can get a taste of. Please join us in learning about Yemen’s traditions and culture through this exhibition.
