MotorCity Casino Hotel is proud to announce The Spinners with special guest Jimmie J.J. Walker at Sound Board on Friday, September 25th at 8:00pm.
The Spinners, a Detroit-based R&B/Pop/Soul vocal group made their debut at the Apollo Theater in 1964. The group's winning acclaim was realized when they signed with Motown Records. The Spinners have six Grammy nominations and 12 gold records, with hits on top of the Pop and R&B charts.
Jimmie J.J. Walker is an actor and stand-up comedian known for portraying J.J. Evans on the television series Good Times. While on the show, his character was known for The catch phrase "Dyn-o-mite". His fame grew when he recorded his best-selling comedy album, "Dyn-o-mite!" Time Magazine later named him Comedian of the Decade.
SOUND BOARD, an intimate live performance venue, is located at MotorCity Casino Hotel. The venue features four bars and several private suites that are available to create an unforgettable live entertainment event. Complimentary valet and convenient self parking is also available.
