Riverbank Theatre to Present THOROUGLY MODERN MILLIE
Being modern means bobbing your hair, raising your hemline, entering the workforce and rewriting the rules of love
The world has a lot in store for Millie Dillmount (Caroline Conceison) as she throws her country-Kansas life away to adopt a more modern city-life in New York. Jobless Millie has nothing, but that also mean she has nothing to lose. She ambitiously seeks out work, and plans to marry her wealthy boss - whoever he may be. Along the way, she finds a job and a boss, Mr. Trevor Graydon (Aaron Dennis Smith), she falls for paper-clip salesman, Jimmy Smith (Matt Copley). Despite her feelings for Jimmy, she is determined to stick to her plan of marrying the rich Mr. Graydon because a 'modern' takes charge of her destiny.
Join us for this high-energy, toe-tappin' musical comedy that won 6 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, with music by Jeanine Tesori, lyrics by Dick Scanlan, and book by Richard Morris and Scanlan. This cast consisting of many Riverbank returnees including Nancy Penvose (Mrs. Meers), Aaron Dennis Smith (Mr. Trevor Graydon), Colleen Wood Ellery (Miss Flannery), and Christy Kreidler (Muzzy Van Hossmere) will have you falling in love with every twist and turn Millie's story will take.
