Photo Flash: Michigan Premiere of HEATHERS THE MUSICAL at Actors' Theatre Grand Rapids

Actors' Theatre is kicking off its 35th season with the hit musical Heathers the Musical which got its start from the 1988 cult film Heathers starring Winona Ryder and Christian Slater, and became an Off-Broadway musical sensation in 2014. Check out photos from the show below!

The musical pays homage to the many great moments in the film while adding more depth to the story and, of course, a rockin' musical score. Under the direction and choreography of Jolene Frankey, the music direction of Scott Bell, and fronted by a powerhouse of performers, Heathers the Musical will be a show not to miss! In addition, Actors' Theatre is one of the first regional theatres to perform Heathers the Musical and only the second in the Midwest) - an outstanding opportunity for our community.

Heathers the Musical is the darkly delicious story of Veronica Sawyer, a brain, beautiful, teenage misfit who hustles her way into the most powerful and ruthless clique at Westerberg High: the Heathers. But before she can get comfortable atop the high school food chain, Veronica falls in love with the dangerously fascinating new kid J.D. When Heather Chandler, the Almighty, kicks her out of the group, Veronica decides to bite the bullet and kiss Heather's aerobicized ass...but J.D. has another plan for that bullet.

And if the mess is any indication, it's no wonder that his wife left him. Late to arrive is Felix Unger, who has just been separated from his wife.
