Performance Network Theatre Extends VENUS IN FUR Through 4/13

By: Mar. 26, 2014

Due to the high demand for tickets, Performance Network Theatre announces the extension of what the Examiner calls a "5-star production" with additional performances on Thursday, April 10 at 7:30pm, Saturday, April 12 at 8pm, and Sunday, April 13 at 2pm. There will not be a Friday performance on April 11 due to Performance Network's 2nd Annual DREAMCAST Spring Fundraiser. For more information and tickets audiences may visit performancenetwork.org.

"Not every show is extended at Performance Network," says Marketing Director, Marissa Kurtzhals. "If we need extra time to build the next set, or there isn't an overwhelming demand for tickets, we run the show as scheduled. We are very pleased with the positive response we have received for this intellectually stimulating production, and we're happy to provide our community with more stellar performances!"

Thomas, a beleaguered playwright/director, is desperate to find an actress to play Vanda, the female lead in his adaptation of the classic sadomasochist tale Venus in Fur. Into the audition room walks a vulgar and distraught actress-oddly enough, named Vanda. Though utterly wrong for the part, Vanda exhibits a strange command of the material. As the two work through the script, the lines between play and reality blur, entering into an increasingly serious battle of submission and domination that only one of them can win. "Venus in Fur" is recommended for mature audiences only.
