Matrix Theatre to Host 5th Annual Cabaret with Kate Brennan & Harvey Reed

Vocalist Kate Brennan and pianist Harvey Reed present their newest cabaret show "Dueling Favorites" with Ibrahim Jones on bass, Friday, June 10 at Matrix Theatre located at 2730 Bagley in the heart of southwest Detroit's Mexicantown. Brennan and Reed have each compiled an exciting list of their own favorites to share with the audience. "I must tell you we don't always agree, so the audience should have fun guessing which ones belong to Harvey and which belong to me," shared Brennan. The duo is sure to include at least one Cole Porter and one George Gershwin in the show. After the performance, patrons are invited to enjoy an afterglow reception featuring delicious hors d'oeuvres, desserts and specialty drinks at Repair the World directly across the street from the theatre.

Brennan and Reed have been sharing their special brand of jazz cabaret with audiences since 1992 when they took to the stage at the Whitney Restaurant at its Jazz on 3 series. Since then, they have performed at Kerrytown Concert Hall in Ann Arbor, Orchestra Hall, Cuisine Restaurant, the Whitney, and numerous other local venues. This marks their fifth annual cabaret for Matrix Theatre.
