LATE NITE CATECHISM 3 Comes To The Gem Theater 2/2-3/6
By: Gabrielle Sierra
The historic Gem Theatre presents 35 performances of Late Nite Catechism 3:‘Til Death Do Us Part for a limited engagement Feb. 2-March 6, 2011. Mary Zentmyer returns as Sister in this brand-new, third addition to the sinfully funny Late Nite series.
After teaching countless students about the saints, venial sins, limbo and more, Sister is now offering up hilarious lessons on the Sacraments of Marriage and the Last Rites, including her own wacky version of the Newlywed Game - and just in time for Valentine's Day. Classroom participation is a must, so bring a sweetie and a sense of humor. A session with the country's feistiest couples' counselor, Sister, offers tips and conveys witty observations about dating differences across generations, "Guys in those days were persistent - following the gal two or three weeks before she'd even say ‘hello.' In the old days, that would be okay, but now, that would be stalking." Mary Zentmyer has been performing in Sister's Christmas Catechism at The Century Theatre since it premiered in November. Previously, she had been traveling all over the USA, performing in Sister's Christmas Catechism and in the Chicago phenomenon, Late Nite Catechism. Zentmyer first appeared as Sister at the Ivanhoe Theatre in Chicago and made her off-Broadway debut at the Theatre at St. Luke's in New York City. Tickets ($29.50 - $34.50) are on sale now at the Gem Theatre box office (313-963-9800), Ticketmaster charge by phone (800-982-2787), at all Ticketmaster outlets, and online at www. Ticketmaster.com.
