GO Comedy! Improv Theatre Held at Ferndale Improv, 1/29

By:

GO Comedy! Improv Theatre is set to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that they have what it takes to put Detroit's legal community in laughing contempt. On Friday, January 29 at 8pm Go Comedy! will host its first legal industry night. Members of Detroit's legal community will receive a 20% discount on tickets to the Go Comedy! All Star Showdown and have a chance to win fabulous prizes. In addition, one of the teams of improvisers competing in the All-Star Showdown will play with a lawyer theme. Tickets (regularly $15) are available online at www.gocomedy.net, by calling (248) 327-0575, or in person at the Go Comedy! box office beginning at 7pm Wednesday - Sunday evenings.

"This past year we've had successful themed evenings for different industries. Creating an evening with a legal theme seemed like a great opportunity to not only introduce improvisation to a new audience, but also show men and women in the legal field how similar the art of improvisation is to many the skills required in their profession," says Go Comedy! Improv Theatre co-owner Pj Jacokes.

The centerpiece of the Go Comedy! weekly line up is the All-Star Showdown, Friday & Saturdays at 8pm & 10pm. "Legal professionals will like the All-Star Show Down because it's a hilarious, interactive show, but they will also connect with improv skills they see on stage because they use them every day in the court room," added Jacokes.

This is the first legal industry night for Go Comedy'!s team of owners and management: Pj Jacokes (Ferndale), Chris DiAngelo (Ferndale), Tommy LeRoy (Ferndale) and Gerald Knight (Ann Arbor). "We want everyone to have a great time so we're offering legal professionals 20% off the price of their ticket for the All-Star Show Down on the 29th and we even created a signature drink called the 'Probono' to add to the experience," says Go Comedy! co-owner and artistic director, Chris DiAngelo. Jacokes added, "Our goal is to entertain the audience, but we always hope what we do on stage sparks an interest with the audience to look into Go U! Improv Academy. The skills we use on stage like thinking on one's feet, communicating effectively and working with a team are just some of the concepts our students learn."

Tickets to The Go Comedy! All-Star Show Down are $15 with an additional 20% discount for anyone in the legal community on Friday, January 29 at 8pm and can be purchased online at www.gocomedy.net, by calling (248) 327-0575, or in person at the Go Comedy! box office. To receive the legal industry night discount, legal professionals are encouraged to show or provide their business card at the box office. Collected business cards will be entered into a 'fishbowl' drawing for two free passes for an upcoming Go Comedy! performance of their choice.
