Local audiences will have a chance to sample the wares of one of the newer brew pubs as well as get an inside look at the development of a new play. The Wolverine State Brewing Company Tap Room at 2019 West Stadium in Ann Arbor is hosting two readings of a new dark comedy "Hollywood And Hyde" by local Director/Playwright Tim Henning. The first reading will be at 3pm Sunday September 9, followed by a second reading on Sunday the 16th at 3pm. In the week's interim, the writer will be fiendishly and furiously making rewrites so that the second reading should be very different from the first.

"Hollywood And Hyde" is a modern retelling of the Jekyll and Hyde story originally by Robert Louis Stephenson. In this new version, Henry Jekyll is a bitter out-of-work Hollywood actor whose closest confidante, Gabby Utterson, has begun to notice strange and violent happenings surrounding her friend. The play is scheduled for full production in October by the Emergent Arts Theatre Company at Riverside Arts Center in Ypsilanti. The reading will feature local actors Tony Putman, Adrienne Frank, Allen Guilpain, Christopher Potter, Paul Bianchi, Laurie Atwood.

The Wolverine State Brewing Company Tap Room is located at 2019 West Stadium, Ann Arbor, Michigan. Readings will be held on Sunday, September 9 at 3pm and Sunday, September 16 at 3pm.

Admission is free to the public. Donations to the Emergent Arts Theatre Company will be accepted. Call (734) 985-0875 for more info, or email info@emergentarts.com. No reservations needed, but get there in time to get a seat.
