Children With Hair Loss (CWHL) is excited for their 11th Annual Charity Ball fundraising event, to be held this Saturday, November 7, from 6:00-11:00pm at Laurel Manor: 39000 Schoolcraft Rd., Livonia, Michigan 48150. A limited number of tickets are available by calling 734.379.4400.

The 11th Annual Charity Ball, presented by The Jon Renau Collection, will be a festive night to celebrate CWHL's recipient children in their largest annual fundraising event! The evening will include a fabulous hair & fashion show that features CWHL's recipient children. The event will be hosted by Detroit's own Amy Andrews, WJBK FOX2 News Reporter, and will feature Kayla Martell, who was diagnosed with Alopecia Areata at age 10, and was crowned as Miss Delaware in 2010.

The evening will be fun-filled, including: dinner; the hair & fashion show; auctions & raffles and live music & dancing to the sounds of the Wanderers Trio.

Recently, CWHL has enjoyed major success with the expansion of their services to recipients, fundraising and outreach due in large part to their corporate partnerships, fundraising support by salons across the country, in addition to private support.

11th Annual Charity Ball Tickets and Sponsorships are available at www.childrenwithhairloss.us or by calling734.379.4400. All profits from the event directly benefit CWHL and their recipient children.

Annual Sponsorships for CWHL, including product partnerships and corporate opportunities are also available. With its growing national network of partners, CWHL has the capacity to provide free customized human hair replacements to thousands of children annually, with the proper funding for manufacturing costs.

CWHL is a Michigan-based non-profit organization that provides customized human hair replacements at no cost to children with medically-related hair loss. Through CWHL, each recipient child receives a free customized human hair replacement & care kit annually until the age of 21. Each complete package can cost up to $5,000. CWHL is the only charitable organization of its kind that provides all products and services completely free of charge, with no hidden fees, financial reporting or required appearances.

A child facing medically related hair loss is confronted with a loss of self-esteem, self-confidence, and social acceptance as well. The essence of normalcy in their life is devastated. Often, friends become bullies, casual glances become uncomfortable stares, and once happy social interactions become insurmountable challenges. Under the weight of such unhappiness, many children, even if their health permits it, are unable to carry on with regular schooling.

Regina Villemure, founder of CWHL, has been honored by the Paul W. Smith show on WJR Radio in Detroit, as one of their outstanding "Women Who Lead," a program designed to recognize women who are positively influencing the community.

"I've been fortunate enough through our work at CWHL to be able to experience the most heartwarming feelings of helping children overcome a huge obstacle to their happiness," said Regina. "At a time when many children need to channel their full energy into healing, the last thing they should be worried about is their looks and their hair loss, but it's a reality. I've seen kids go from being afraid of being bullied at school and having low self-esteem, to gaining confidence and completely turning their lives around. When you turn a child towards a mirror so they can see their new hair for the first time, you see their smile return and you actually witness life coming back to their eyes. It's absolutely amazing."
