Lube: An Unauthorized Grease'd-Up Parody is a hilarious time from start to finish at the Ringwald Theatre in Ferndale. From the moment the characters of Danny and Mandy step on stage, the audience is laughing as they realize this may not be exactly the beloved Grease movie they remember from 1978 - it is a whole lot funnier and dirtier.

Joe Bailey wrote and directed Lube: An Unauthorized Grease'd-Up Parody. It is silly, crude, and absolutely hysterical in every way. It takes the innocent, yet dirty undertones of the original Grease film and brings them to the extreme maximum level. Quite brilliant, especially with all the room left open for improvisations throughout the show that talented group of actors does very quickly and leaves the audience in hysterics.

The entire cast of the Lube: An Unauthorized Grease'd-Up Parody works together really well and they keep the audience laughing and laughing. It really seems like they are having a good time on stage, which makes the audience have an even better time viewing the performance. The two leads are Vince Kelley, who plays the role of Danny, and Richard Payton, who plays the role of Mandy, and the two of them together are a definitely one of a kind couple to see on stage with their great chemistry and hysterical interactions. It is so much fun to watch them perform together and separately; both are great comedic actors. Extra note must be made of Payton in the role of Mandy, who is just outstanding, so funny, and one of the highlights of show because it is really hard not to watch him when he is on stage. Brandy Joe Plambeck who plays the role of Jan had moments of utter amusement that were just executed brilliantly and leaves the audience in fits of laughter completely stealing the show. He is definitely one of the best parts of it. DeAnnah Kleitz-Singleton who plays Kenicke is another standout as she was meant for the role and is fantastic in it. She draws the audience in, makes them watch her, feel with her (even in this hysterical comedy), and they just end up loving her in every way possible. The rest of the cast is Liz Schultz (Jizzo), Marcus Laban (Putzie), Tess Hannah (Frenchy), Meredith Deighton (Poody), Amanda Sweet (Marty/Cha-Cha), and Scott Jason Alexander Cook (Sonny). To be completely honest, the whole cast was extremely talented, super funny, and all had stand out moments that would make it easy to gush about each and every one of them, but seeing as how the show is only an hour long without an intermission, the review should not be longer than the performance.

A quick note should be mentioned about the music in Lube: An Unauthorized Grease'd-Up Parody and how amazing it is! It is hilarious, fresh, and one of kind. It really is some of the best parody music that has come about recently, but that is all the details that should be wrote about as it needs to be experienced live, not read about.

Lube: An Unauthorized Grease'd-Up Parody is the unexpected story the audience thinks they know, but is unlike anything they have ever experienced. It is an one-hour comedic gem of Michigan theatre that is worth taking the time to see and will leave them laughing out the door. Take a chance and see this hilarious production of Lube: An Unauthorized Grease'd-Up Parody and laugh a lot of with the cast at the Ringwald Theatre, it will be worth it!
