Auditions for Pinckney Players’ Production of MY FAIR LADY, 6/1

Auditions for Pinckney Players' production of MY FAIR LADY will be held June 1st and 2nd at the Jane Tasch Theatre.

Children's (10 - 18 years) auditions will take place from 6:30-7:30PM and adult auditions from 7:30-10:00pm.

Please be prepared to sing up to 16 measures of a song. An accompanist will be available for you if needed. Also, bring your conflict dates from June 28th thru September 26th. You must be 100% available for the final two weeks of rehearsal, due to the short rehearsal time. Conflicts will be a major decision maker when casting this show. Please list everything from vacations to extra-curricular activities.

MY FAIR LADY - Character Descriptions
Professor Henry Higgins: (age 35-55) baritone. Highly educated expert on language: upper class, arrogant, self-absorbed, misanthropic. Songs include: "Why Can't The English", "Let A Woman In Your Life", "I've Grown Accustomed To Her Face."

Eliza Doolittle: (age 18-35) soprano. Cockney flower girl who wants "to speak like a lady" after a chance encounter with Higgins who boasts he could "turn her into a Duchess". Songs include: "Wouldn't It Be Loverly", "Just You Wait", "I Could Have Danced All Night Long."

Colonel Pickering: (age 40 +) bass-baritone. A retired military man who pays the expenses of his colleague, Higgins, to turn Eliza into a lady. Song: "You did It."

Alfred P. Doolittle: (age 40 +) bass-baritone. Eliza's father and self confessed lout who makes no apologies for his dissolute lifestyle. Songs: "With A Little Bit Of Luck", "Get Me To The Church On Time."

Freddy Eynsford-Hill: (age 25-40) tenor. An upper-class, young man who is taken with Eliza. Song "On The Street Where You Live."

Mrs. Pearce: (age 40+) mezzo. Higgins' housekeeper. Practical, no-nonsense but good hearted. Chorus lead

Zoltan Karpathy: (age 30-40) non-singing. Hungarian accent. Former student of Higgins who prides himself on being able to spot a phony by their speech.

Mrs. Higgins: (age 55+) non-singing. Very upper class but sees her son, as well as the world, clearly.

Mrs. Eynsford-Hill: (age 50+) could sing with chorus. Freddy's widowed snob mother.

Harry and Jamie: (age 25+) tenor and bass-baritone. Alfred's drinking buddies. Songs: "With a Little Bit Of Luck", "Get Me To The Church On Time".

Servant Chorus: (any ages) SATB. 4-8 group. Tight harmonies.

Ensamble: Large chorus with roles in the street scenes, Ascot, Tavern, and the Embassy Ball.

Roles with small speaking lines include: bartender, Mrs. Hopkins, 2 Bystanders, 3 Cockney men, Selsey man, Hoxton man.

Non-speaking include: Lord and Lady Boxington, Footman, 3 buskers, 2 stewards, Chalres the chauffer, Mrs. Higgins maid

Featured Cameo Roles: The Prince and Queen of Transylvania , the Ambassador and his wife, Dr. Themistocles.
