The New York Times raved: Legere plays the piano with enormous authority in a style that encompasses Chopin, blues, ragtime, bebop and beyond, and she brings to her vocal delivery a four octave range, and an extraordinary palette of tonal color and meticulous phrasing.

Provincetown Magazine writes, Often copied, never equaled, Phoebe Legere is a transmedia virtuoso force that zaps the listener into a new reality. Legere personifies the divine feminine; her multi-octave voice has been compared to Edith Piaf, Aretha Franklin and Maria Callas…Legere is a nuclear, spinning, multi-dimensional, creative force NOT TO BE MISSED.
— Provincetown Magazine August 2014

Ms. Legere keeps very busy. Just recently off of emceeing the Acker awards at Manhattan’s Howl Happening Gallery, she’s continuing on the year with live shows that include her and her band Tit for Tat opening for kindred spirits the Fabulous Thunderbirds and creating a new musical about children laborers in New England Mills in the 1890s/1900s for York City’s Public Theater. She’s performing at the Tay Creek Folk Festival in New Brunswick, Canada, and helping Provincetown kick off its Girls Splash Week with her all-woman Cajun band Phoebe Legere and Bon Appetit ! She’ll be back in nearby Orleans, MA to perform a house concert. Winter she’ll be performing at Luna Cafe and Play ACMA in Florida. Indeed. No two of her shows are the same.

Ms. Legere is, also, creating a new album which will feature half the songs in French and half in English, plus pages of her art work.

In 2014 Phoebe, herself, received the prestigious Acker Award for Excellence in the Arts. She is known as a transmedia artist: a composer, artist, filmmaker, arranger, songwriter, singer and performer on piano, accordion, guitar, cello, Native American flute, and synthesizer. In 2014 Legere appeared on HBO’s documentary IT’S ME HILARY which was produced by Lena Dunham.

She was signed to Epic Records, and opened for David Bowie on his National Tour in 1991. She led highly influential downtown bands, from Monad, to Ultra Monad To Blond Fox, Swingalicious. After the success of “Marilyn Monroe” (Island Records), Legere played concerts and jazz festivals. She was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize for her work with the Cleveland Chamber Symphony.
