(12/03/2012) - In this retelling of Meredith Wilson's 'The Music Man,' with early 20th century Midwest slang and an almost too quick gift-wrapped resolution, director Mark Martino and choreographer Shea Sullivan were able to successfully breathe new life into a script and score that, especially for younger audiences, could so easily remain stale.

Composer and lyricist Jerry Herman was in the audience at last night's show. Joining McKechnie in the production will be Megan Yelaney, Molly Ann Ross, Megan Jimenez and Julie Woods-Robinson as Jo, Amy, Meg, and Beth respectively. (03/06/2012) - Last night, Jim Caruso's Cast Party made it's debut at The Crest Theatre in Delray Beach, Florida for the first of two nights. The ‘extreme open mic,' hosted by Jim Caruso and musical director Billy Stritch, celebrated and showcased local Florida talent, including singers Chloe Dolandis, Zoralis Calle Perez, Lily Forte, Sarah Dreben, guitarist Billy Rogan, pianist Joey Lieber and impressionist Sharon Daniels.

(03/01/2012) - Travelers at the Miami Int. Airport were treated to a surprise performance by Florida Grand Opera singers on Feb. 29th, courtesy of the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation's 'Random Acts of Culture' program. A total of six surprise opera performances took the airport by storm. Singers sat and stood casually among other bystanders waiting for flights in terminal D. Then, suddenly, the music began and was shortly followed by seven vocalists performing ' Libiamo' (the Drinking Song) from Verdi's La Traviata.

(03/01/2012) - Broadway star Tom Wopat is enjoying the Florida sunshine this week as he takes to the stage at the Colony Hotel in Palm Beach. Returning to the Royal Room for the first time since 2007, Tom Wopat first came to public attention in the late-1970s as the freewheeling Luke Duke on the TV series The Dukes of Hazzard. In 1977, he made his Broadway debut in Cy Coleman's I Love My Wife. Wopat went on to perform in the Tony Award-winning City of Angels and Guys and Dolls. He received a Tony nomination for creating the role of Frank Butler in the Broadway revival of Annie Get Your Gun, opposite Bernadette Peters. In 2008, Wopat returned to Broadway as Tom Hurley in A Catered Affair with Faith Prince and Harvey Fierstein. 2011 saw him again on Broadway starring as Frank Abagnale Sr. in the new adaptation of Catch Me If You Can.

The two were introduced by a friend of Rosen's, who wasn't able to make the wedding, as a result of the weather and warnings throughout all the boroughs. The BroadwayWorld.com News Desk stayed feverish all weekend while the couple said 'I Do', as news was coming fast about theatre cancellations, schedule changes and travel advisories in addition to all things that were happening in other parts of the country and the world, not affected by the Northeast's local weather.
