The Playgroup to Present BROKEN ANGELS This Fall Image

The Playgroup, LLC will present the first production of its third season at the Willow Theatre at Sugar Sand Park in Boca Raton, BROKEN ANGELS, written by Todd Caster and directed by Brian Reeves.

This courtroom drama, set in 1920's Virginia, is an original play based on the true Supreme Court case of Buck v. Bell. Carrie Buck is sent to the Lynchburg Colony for the Feebleminded, and is the first candidate in Virginia's new law to have the feebleminded sterilized. Saddled with a court appointed attorney, she faces a roomful of hostile witnesses who are eager to see this new law put into place. This play looks frankly at the slippery slope of marginalizing and dehumanizing certain groups of people. A powerful play with a powerful message.

Directed by Brian Reeves, with set design by Nick LoMonte, the production stars: Bruce Allen, Teresa Biber-LoMonte, Jill Brown, Todd Caster, Brian Dever, Tracy Johnson, Nick LoMonte, Rachel Swanzy, Scott Travis and Tom Turner.

BROKEN ANGELS will run for six performances at the Willow Theatre at Sugar Sand Park, 300 S. Military Trail, Boca Raton, FL, 33486. November 3, 4, and 10 at 8PM, November 5, 11, and 12 at 2PM. Rated PG-13. Tickets: $25, groups of 4 or more are $15 each. Visit www.willowtheatre.org or call (561) 347-3948.
