New American Theater continues Cabaret Series at BayWalk

New American Theater (NAT) has announced two new shows in their NAT Cabaret Series. Currently onstage is Songs For A New World, with performances thru April 10th. After that, two great cabaret series shows including the return of "Elvis" and a tribute to Peggy Lee.

On April 15 & 16 at 8:00pm, NAT will present "ELVIS: A Concert Experience" with Jim Jinelli. Jim has been impersonating Elvis Presley for more than 20 years. His portrayal of Elvis covers the concert touring years of 1971-1977. Just as Elvis covered many more songs in his concerts than his own, so does Jim, offering the audience a "Concert Experience" as close to the original as possible. This is a 90-minute show and tickets are $20.00.

April 29, 30 & May 1 marks the return of cabaret favorites Samantha McKinnon Brown and James W. Crumbly, Jr., with their tribute "Still Hot for Peggy Lee". This is a celebration of the woman whose talent, Frank Sinatra said, "should be studied by all vocalists." A unique triple threat, Peggy Lee was a singer, actress, and songwriter, who had a subtle, sensual, style, and a voice that just
purred. This 60-minute show shares stories and songs of Peggy Lee, whose musical career spanned six decades. Performances are at 8:00pm on Friday & Saturday, 6:30pm on Sunday. Tickets are $15.00

Tickets for the shows can be purchased online at www.newamericantheater.org, or by calling the box office at 727-575-9241. All performances are general admission and a cash bar is available. The New American Theater Center is located at 183 2nd Avenue North, at BayWalk in downtown St. Petersburg.
