The Waterfront Playhouse will host a free public performance of "Creature Feature," a musical presentation of numbers that have been developed in the Waterfront's children's summer theater workshop. The performance will be Saturday, August 9th at 2:30 pm at the Waterfront Playhouse located in historic Mallory Square. The Waterfront's annual Lights Up On Kids workshop, has been directed this year by Keys Kids veterans, Cameron Murray and Daniel Bonnett.

The "Creature Feature" performance will feature numbers from such Broadway hits as "The Lion King," "Beauty and the Beast," "Suessical," "Cats," "Willie Wonka," and "Young Frankenstein." The workshop has featured training in song, dance and acting, as well as improvisation, mask design, set painting, etc. The workshop is a comprehensive look at all the aspects that go into making a musical production.

The Waterfront leaders are particularly pleased to have Mr. Murray and Mr. Bonnett bring their considerable knowledge in children's theater to this year's group of participants. Cameron Murray is the current artistic director for Keys Kids, as well as the drama/theater instructor at Key West High. Daniel Bonnett is the founder of Keys Kids, and is currently teaching and performing in the Ft. Lauderdale area. Between them, they have staged over 50 shows for Keys Kids, including 42nd Street, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Bye, Bye Birdie, 101 Dalmations, The Wizard of Oz and many others.

Admission is free for the performance. Doors will open at 2:00 pm, and the seating will be on a first come first served basis. For further information, please visit www.waterfrontplayhouse.org.
