Maltz Jupiter Theatre Paul and Sandra Golder Conservatory of Performing Arts to Offer Spring Classes

Ever wanted to try singing, dancing - or perfect your skills?

The Maltz Jupiter Theatre Paul and Sandra Goldner Conservatory of Performing Arts has just the class for you, with exciting spring classes taught by Broadway-caliber theater professionals beginning Jan. 5.

In addition to producing full-scale professional family shows throughout the season, the Theatre's Conservatory offers year-round learning opportunities for kids and adults of all ages, including a spring semester of exciting, fun-filled classes taught by Broadway-caliber theatre professionals. The Theatre is currently enrolling students of all ages in all levels of dance, voice, acting, musical theatre and more!

The Conservatory offers a range of ballet, jazz, tap and hip hop dance classes, as well as courses in play creation, guitar, audition techniques and musical theatre singing.

"We have something for everyone at the Conservatory, and we are very excited that our signature Musical Theatre Production classes will be producing two full-scale musicals this spring: Dr. Doolittle Jr. and Sweet Charity," said Julie Rowe, the Theatre's director of education. "The musicals will be performed on the Maltz Jupiter Theatre's stage, compete with professional production values: sets, costumes, lights, a full orchestra and more. Enrollment fees are all-inclusive, covering all costumes and performance-related costs."

Over 600 students per year come from as far as Miami, Wellington and Fort Pierce to study at the Conservatory. The connection to the Theatre allows students the opportunity to perform on the Theatre's stage and work alongside professionals both onstage and off, with hands-on workshops and master classes that offer students an opportunity to learn first-hand from nationally known directors and Broadway performers, agents and local instructors.

Upcoming opportunities include a dance master class with acclaimed actress and dancer J. Nycole Ralph, a performer in the Theatre's upcoming production of The Wiz (January 18), and a free public audition skills seminar open to all local students and their parents will take place at the Theatre on January 31.

An exclusive program is the Theatre's "In the Style Of" series, which offers an extra-special opportunity for Conservatory students to be selected for free, unique dance workshops with cast members from the Theatre's upcoming musicals The Wiz and LES MISERABLES. Attendees will be selected via lottery, open to all currently enrolled students. The second "In the Style Of" dance master class of the season is scheduled for January 25.

Students enrolled in the Conservatory's Musical Theatre Production classes are preparing to perform The Best of Broadway Revue on the Maltz Jupiter Theatre's stage on December 30, including songs and scenes the Conservatory's upcoming productions of Dr. Doolittle Jr., Sweet Charity and more.

And children and teens aren't the only ones having fun at the Conservatory. Adults of all ages also participate throughout the year in the Conservatory's acting, tap, jazz, singing and playwriting classes. Classes are offered in the evening to accommodate adults with busy schedules, in addition to a full range of afternoon seasonal classes.

The Conservatory has several upcoming vacation camps for children: a one-day Laugh Factory winter break camp (January 2), a five-day Safari! spring break camp (March 16 - 20) and a one-day Improv spring break camp (March 23).

The Conservatory's staff includes Brian Andrews, Jay Johnson, Sarah-Helen Land, Kristine DiMartino, Viky Andreatta Smith, Lea Roy, Ricky Nahas, Shelley Keelor, John Mercurio, Elizabeth DeMarco and Elizabeth Davis. A parent orientation to meet the faculty is scheduled for January 3.
