Maltz Jupiter Theatre Announces October Offerings

By:

The Maltz Jupiter Theatre's 2011/12 season of limited engagements kicks off with something for everyone in October - a presentation revealing juicy spy secrets, a world-renowned orchestra and a popular children's show.

"In addition to our five dynamic season shows, we are extremely energized about our upcoming season of limited engagements," said the Theatre's artistic director, Andrew Kato. "October brings an internationally-recognized spy expert to our stage, as well as a lively kids' show and the always-thrilling sounds of the Glenn Miller Orchestra, presented by our Guild as a benefit for our Conservatory - sure to get anyone ‘in the mood' for live theatre."

On Sunday, October 9, join in the fun as the Maltz Jupiter Theatre Guild presents the Glenn Miller Orchestra, a fundraiser to benefit the Theatre and its Conservatory of Performing Arts. One of the greatest bands of all time, the band will perform their hits "Moonlight Serenade," "Steppin' Out," "In the Mood," and many more! Sponsored by Kretzer Piano. Showtime is 7:30 p.m., and all tickets are $40.

On Saturday, October 22, bring the little ones to the Theatre as the PNC Kids Korner Series presents Jigsaw Jones, the Case of the Class Clown. Brimming with music, charm, and humor, the ArtsPower show brings the popular chapter book series by James Preller to life onstage, and follows the adventures of Theodore "Jigsaw" Jones, a young detective who is on the case to solve a "slimy" mystery. Fun for all ages, showtime is noon and all tickets are $12.

And finally, on Monday, October 24, you won't want to miss a special engagement for the Theatre's first season show, Alfred Hitchcock's The 39 Steps, as the Spy Series presents Spies: Movies vs. Reality. Publicly revealing secrets for the first time, prominent espionage author and historian H. Keith Melton takes you inside the show through a dynamic audiovisual presentation and compares its characters' spy craft with that used by today's spies. Showtime is 7:30 p.m., and all tickets are $25.

"We are particularly fortunate to bring Mr. Melton to our Theatre, who is recognized internationally as an authority on spy technology," Kato said. "Melton has assembled an unparalleled collection of over 8,000 spy devices and was a founding member of the International Spy Museum in Washington, D.C. where he serves on their board of advisors. Theatergoers won't want to miss his electrifying presentation."

Tickets are currently on sale for the Theatre's annual series of outstanding concerts, plays, films and children's shows. Also available are single tickets and subscriptions for the Maltz Jupiter Theatre's ninth season of great theater, The Best of Broadway. For tickets, call (561) 575-2223 or go online to www.jupitertheatre.org.
