Tony Winner Billy Porter Plays Colony Theater Today

Billy Porter whose role as "Lola" shook up Broadway when he starred in "Kinky Boots" and took both the Tony and Drama Desk Awards as Best Actor in a Musical, wraps up the inaugural South Beach Broadway Series, today, Friday and tomorrow, Saturday, March 20 and 21, at 8 P.M at the Colony Theater.
Scheduled to return to Broadway's Al Hirschfeld Theater on April 28, Porter is the multi-gifted singer, composer, actor, playwright and director who also appeared in "Miss Saigon," "Five Guys Named Moe," and in the original cast of "Grease. " Major directorial credits include his critically acclaimed re-creation of "The Wiz," and the musical revue, "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: The Music of Stevie Wonder" which starred Chaka Khan. Most recently Porter recorded "Billy's Back on Broadway," a nod to Sammy Davis, Jr's recording "Sammy's Back on Broadway," featuring ten classics made famous on the Great White Way.
