The 2009-2010 Season marks Artistic Director and Conductor John V. Sinclair's 20th year at the helm of the Bach Festival Society, making him the longest-serving conductor in the Society's history.

Facts

Under Dr. Sinclair's tenure, the Bach Festival Society has reached new artistic heights, including these highlights:
The Bach Festival Choir has twice been invited to perform with the London Symphony Orchestra during its Daytona Beach, FL residencies.
The repertoire of the Bach Festival Choir and Orchestra has greatly increased, including the performance of several commissions, multiple premiers, and a selection of rarely performed works.
The Society has hosted award-winning artists, including Denise Graves, Andre Watts, Marilyn Horne, Leon Fleisher, Sharon Isbin, and Richard Stoltzman.
The Bach Festival Society has produced three acclaimed recordings.
The Bach Festival Choir and Orchestra have embarked on three international tours, performing in such places as the Vatican, Smetana Hall, the Duomo in Florence, National Library of Austria, and Dublin Cathedral.
The Bach Festival Society has added multiple educational and outreach programs, including FreshStARTs programs in public schools, the Young at Heart Chorale, the Bach Festival Youth Choir, and the Young Artist Competition.

In addition to serving with the Bach Festival Society of Winter Park, Sinclair conducts the Walt Disney World Candlelight Processional at EPCOT, directs the Moravian Music Festivals, is conductor of the Messiah Choral Society (Orlando), and participates in recording projects for the Walt Disney Corporation and other entertainment companies. Sinclair serves as the Director of Music at First Congregational Church in Winter Park. He is also the Director of Music for Rollins College and holds the John M. Tiedtke Chair of Music.
